Ruby Dickson is a researcher at Rethink Priorities with significant experience in policy, economic research, and consulting. She joined the GHD team in 2021 after earning her Masters of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Oxford.
From 2022 to 2023, Ruby served as the youngest woman ever elected to the Colorado House of Representatives, where she passed legislation related to climate change, healthcare access, housing, and tax policy. She also advocated for policy change on other issues such as reproductive freedom, economic development, and land use reform.
Prior to joining Rethink Priorities and running for office, she was an incubatee and researcher at Charity Entrepreneurship focusing on global development and aid policy. Her work at the University of Oxford’s Government Outcomes Lab helped to establish several useful tools for public-sector actors to evaluate impact. Ruby also worked for more than three years as a strategy consultant, helping clients to navigate complex business issues in a variety of contexts.
Ruby has worked on a variety of projects at Rethink Priorities, ranging from an exploration of the potential benefits of low-cost clean energy to a detailed comparison of the methodologies underpinning global estimates of deaths from malaria. She hopes to continue to improve the lives of people around the world through her work in both research and policy.
