Rethink Priorities' 2022 hires
Scaling our staff
During 2022, Rethink Priorities (RP) scaled substantially. By the end of the year, we will have hired 32 new people for a total of 58 permanent staff, corresponding to 55 full-time equivalents.
Significantly, we hired for several new roles, such as Research Assistants to support our various teams, Executive Research Assistants for each of our co-CEOs, as well as a Chief Strategy Analyst and Director of Animal Welfare (with the latter being an internal promotion). Our core Operations team also scaled up and now includes an Organizational Psychology Researcher, a Projects and Training Manager, and other new positions. Fellowships
In 2022, we welcomed 13 fellows who were given the chance to build their skills, test their fit, and strengthen their career networks. The goals of the program include:
- Helping fellows test, build, and demonstrate their fit for further work (typically, many go on to high-impact jobs at RP or other EA organizations.).
- Helping our permanent staff to build their people management skills.
We plan to continue running the program (or otherwise provide a valuable entry-level EA position) and may increase the number of offerings in the future.
